A lot of these people were men because women were not respected enough to become apart of history, however one woman was truly misunderstood, Pocahontas. In the early seventeenth century, During the Anglo-Powhatan Wars Pocahontas wanted to escape her sheltered life as a woman and prove that she wasn't defenseless, while fighting for her land she meet a man whom she quickly grew fond of . When people found out they assumed that she was turning on her people. However she was just a clueless young girl who wanted to explore life outside of her fathers boundary's. This created a separation between him and his family, making him desire freedom from them. As he got older and his opportunities grew he was able to finally do as he pleased, so without any experience he "planned" his trip.
