Additionally, Santa Clarita follows a similar design and layout philosophy as Levittown. The housing in the neighborhoods all share a similar theme. Lawns and trees are kept for aesthetic reasons. The town is divided into different neighborhoods, which all have their own separate clubs and services. The interior housing design of Santa Clarita today also share many similarities with Levittown, although it is not completely identical. Rooms are designed with a variety of purposes in mind, so that the homeowner can alter the rooms' use for his or her needs. While bright color palettes are still present on the walls, the colors of many appliances have been toned back down. Colorful toilets, refrigerators, tissue paper, and other common household items have generally been replaced by more standard plain, white or chrome colored variants. Additionally, halls have reemerged in homes, which were once considered a waste of valuable space in Levittown. Finally, the demographics of Santa Clarita are much more varied than Levittown.
