While I was walking around in the park I could hear the wind blowing, the river flowing, a frog croaking and birds chirping as they fly around the trees and river.

So, for my micro-teaching, I prepare animal sound quiz for my group.

I recorded different animal and other sounds such as the sound of a river and the sound of a bird on my phone and print animal pictures and other pictures and give my group those pictures, so they can see what animals or things that they can hear while I play the sound on my phone. They have to guess and circle what sounds that they can hear.

BENEFITS OF THIS ACTIVITY
The benefits of this activity is that children will learn to pay attention to the sound that they hear everyday and learn about the things that they hear.
It will make them to want to learn about the things that they hear so this is a new way of learning.

For my micro-teaching for movement, I created a movement dice for my group to play. On each side of the dice, I wrote the stuff that each animal does, how they move like, ‘’waddle like a duck”. Each person in the group can have a turn to throw the dice on the ground and whatever lands on top, the group have to act on what’s written on the dice. They can act for around 10-15 seconds for each side, so each person can have a turn to throw the dice.

BENEFITS OF THIS ACTIVITY
The benefits of this activity is that children will be willing to participate and engage with their peers when they are playing games. It will help them build relationships with their peers.
While, they play this game, they will also be learning how animals moves around so this is a new way of learning.
This activity is also good for physical health since they are moving around. It will strengthens their fine and motor ski

How this documentation will help shape my future learning experiences is that it will help me to document my student’s learning and keep them as it will help them to keep looking back at what they have learnt. I learnt the importance of documenting moments such as when I was presenting I had one person to document what I was presenting for me.

I was actually surprised that my learners were engaging a lot more than I expected. They were so looking forward to knowing what kind of activities that I was preparing to do with them. They participated really well at the games and learn what I was teaching them.

What moved me or furthered my thinking was the importance of having the time for children to play and do activities that will broaden their ways of learning. I saw the importance of letting children play games, games that will strengthen their learnings and encourage them to participate in activities that have been prepared for them.

How I can use my experience with this place for my own professional practice or how I will create opportunities and possibilities for my students is that since I now know the benefits of a place-based learning, I will definitely take my students outside in a way that will benefits their learning.

Some of the benefits of a place-based learning-

- Students can gain better appreciation and understanding of the world around them.

- Increases their engagement with their communities

- Students are being challenged to see the world through ecological, political, economic and social lenses

- Students can meet deeper learning outcomes

- It also gives students an opportunity a ‘voice and choice’ in determining what, how, when and where they learn

It allows tailoring learning to each student’s strengths, needs and interests

It made me realize how important it is for a teacher to have a sense of place and connect with that place since a sense of place is when we involved in the act of creation with place. As a teacher, the only way I can develop my understanding of place as a teacher or the pedagogical in place is to be in and with place, so it was a valuable time for me to spent in that place because It allows me to deeply experience the world around me in a meaningful way.
From having all these experience, i will be able to help my students with their learning since i have experiments how a place can help us learn better in a way that we had never known.
