While reading it in high school, it seems to be the story of two young men who get into trouble at a ranch in Salinas. But, I see now there's more to the story than just George and Lennie. George and Lennie share a relationship unlike any other. Lennie, a simple man who does not understand his strength and does not understand the gravity of his actions, is teamed with George, a man who feels confined in his friendship with Lennie, and states it multiple times. Curly and his wife share an interesting relationship as well, showcasing the longing for a better life from one, and the overbearing dominance of the other.
