In this article, the author claims that Apple is using its technology to force people to conform. The author mentions how mostly everyone has the same products and why he thinks it is taking away the brand's values and people's choices. He then later mentions the Apple Watch and says that this device is forcing people to conform to use the "Apple Ecosystem". The author continues to talk about how Apple Music is telling you what your musical taste is. He believes that this will make people conform with other listeners. His overall message is that ubiquity and conformity makes a consumer more complacent.

In this article, the author explains how China uses a firewall (basically an online blocking system) to block harmful information about their political system (the communist party). Thie article explains how big of a problem this is because China has 700 million users which accounts for 1/4th the world's online population. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube are just a few examples of popular websites used in America, that China blocks using the Great Firewall.  The article also states how China's Great Firewall can monitor everything people do online and know at all times what they are looking up.

It may seem harmless to have a pointless streak, but it is all part of a cycle that traps people in conformity. In this article the author explains The Chinese government controls access to information on the internet by censoring what its citizens can and cannot see.  They have built a technology wall of sorts that is similar to the physical Great Wall of China.  Here in America, that is completely foreign and archaic to us.  They use all kinds of methods to control the type of information such as: blocking access to sites from other countries, placing those who disobey in jail, allegedly causing physical injury to those in other countries who try to share information with those in China, mandating censorship and even using technology from US companies to block internet traffic that they feel is inappropriate.

In this kind of short article it was evident to me just how prevalent Fahrenheit 451 is to our society today. It talks about how Ray Bradbury's work has been described as “ Dated or obsolete”  but this article is saying that they are not. it is Quite interesting how spot on Ray Bradbury was in his predictions for how technology would take over. They talked about how amazon.com recently deleted a bunch of paper copies of books from there availability and Now is offering more digital books.  this is because our conform Society has chosen that they want everything to be based around technology. So by making these books they are causing people to go along with Conformity and just use the online books. Just use more technology that will be great.

In the article, the author explains how Apple is giving the communist regime in China access to personal data. China has been big advocates of censorship in technology/increasing control of technology about what people can see and use. President Xi has cracked down on the right of free speech in China as well. Apple is partnering with Guizhou-Cloud Big Data, which has communist connections, and now the Apple ID data in China will be managed by them. Now the Chinese will be able to see the data about what their citizens do online.The author states that users who accept some of apple terms and agreements might get data deleted and be imprisoned. Apple is now not offering apps that help people in China get blocked data like the New York Times, and Apple says it is just obeying Chinese laws. We now are starting to other companies like Facebook follow in their footsteps.

The author explains that American companies such as Netflix are trying to get into many more places around the world such as china. China has created a huge Great Firewall, which some have thought would crumble, but it has stayed intact under President Xi. Google has already left China because of their censorship, but still many companies are trying to get into China, but these companies are losing. Facebook is still trying to get in, with Mark Zutterburg trying hard to charm his way in. While American companies like google, twitter, LinkedIn, and Microsoft are censored or blocked. Other companies are being taken over by Chinese companies, like Amazon being overtaken by Alibaba, and Apple being overtaken by local companies. These companies that were not even known 10 years ago are now some of the biggest in the world. Also China holds a technology convention every year that discusses pro-censorship in the country. In the article, the author talks about  how Turkey is banning websites, Tv shows, radio shows, and other "anti-government" materials. All this is done in an effort to preserve "national security". The ban on Wikipedia censors certain sites by giving the person trying to reach the site a message that says,  "connection timed out". The Turkish government has done this before and has tried to hide it with multiple media outlets like radio stations and Tv shows.
