Foolish
• Mama: “Son, how come you talk so much ‘bout money?” Walter: “Because, it is life, Mama!” Mama: “Oh—so now its life. Money is life. Once upon a time freedom use to be life—now its money. I guess the world really do change…” Walter: “No—it was always money, Mama. We just didn’t know about it.” p. 74

Walter Is foolish because he makes money the most important thing in life. Money is an important aspect of life ,but family and survival and then money. Just because you have money doesn't mean you can buy true love. That can be seen in Beneatha's case with George.

Ambitious
"MAMA
Yes, a fine man – just couldn’t never catch up with his dreams, that’s all"
Walter was never able to attain his dream. He still had hopes, though, that his children would have a chance to see theirs come true. This makes it even sadder when, both Beneatha's dreams of medical school and Walter's dreams of being a business owner are jeopardized (and possibly destroyed) by Walter's foolish business dealings with the Willy Harris.

I think Walter is a dynamic person throughout the story. I think he is dynamic because Walter starts out in a way wanting to do more for his family. He selfishly wants to invest his father's money into a liquor store. He believes that if he invest into the store, he will help his family in way more ways than he can count. In a way he believes in order to be happy, you have to have money. Money runs he world according to him.

Walter can be seen talking about it in the quote " Walter: “Because, it is life, Mama!” Mama: “Oh—so now its life. Money is life..." Walter say that it is life and it is the only way to move on into new parts of life. Which was true at the time. That is why Walter wants Beneatha to marry George because he has money. Walter doesn't realize to be happy you all you really need is family. Walter in the end keeps the house for the family
