She was a teacher before becoming an activist

She had 11 children that she had to deal with during her time making change for farmers.

She took inspiration on being an activist because of her father. He did his own activist movements.

She came up with "Yes we can" which was used by obama. She once heard"no, no it cant be done" which led her to making this.

After her tragic time, she decided to work on women rights and traveled around the country for 2 years on behalf of the Feminist Majority’s Feminization of Power. A organization that encouraged latin women to run for office.
