When i think of Grendel, everyone wants to classify him as a monster. One of the horrendous horror movie monsters and ones you picture in your head. No one wants to think vivid and wide enough to analyze with in their own self and see the personal monsters. Greed. Lust. Gambling. All these rooting internally no one wants to acknowledge them as their own. Often put off and said forced by other things. But before you can fix the problem you have to fix the problem within yourself. So when asked how do i see Grendel? I see him as one of the everyday people walking around concealing their monsters with the smile and laughter maybe even hatred as everyone does.

When I picture Grendel the song "Monster" by Paramore, comes to my mind because to me Grendel was so misunderstood no one had a understanding for him. No one truly knew why he killed and did the horrible actions he did. In the Song Monster the singer says, "I'm only human, I've got a skeleton in me
But I'm not the villain, despite what you're always preaching.
Call me a traitor, I'm just collecting your victims
And they're getting stronger
I hear them calling."

In those lyrics she's explaining exactly how I feel Grendel was misunderstood because when asked to picture I see Grendel as an average day human, Broken apart by the lies told against him in hopes to make him bout to be something worse than what he is! But in all actually is the same under all his wrongs and terrible actions a human. Just like the rest of us under all our sin and wrong doings is a HUMAN:)

I don't see Grendel himself, as a monster on the outside. What makes him what people fear, is his mental abilities on the inside. They make him seem like a horrific monster, not knowing the consequences of what lies ahead. Guilt, sadness, and abandoned, made him this way. So he seeks out for revenge during their jolly ways.

I chose Desiree Weaks post, who is in your 8th period class. She talked about darkness in the aspect of life in a person and what goes on with in the same way that my process of thinking works for this subject of "darkness". She goes deeper than the average with her statements she says "The more you build up these emotions, the more it drags you back into your personal hell". That i just love, the instance where the harmony matches the tune is right there those words go hand in hand with my post and personal thoughts on darkness. How darkness stem from within before it shows itself in the and through out the world
