  2. Expand my knowledge of programs / resources for providing a robust distance learning experience for my students.

I am excited to have discourse around the past year and what we have learned and can take from it to make school better for our students in the future.
While my school is not intending to continue with remote learning options in the coming year, I hope to employ some virtual learning strategies to help students who:
  1. Can't stay after physically, but would benefit from more 1:1 time for better understanding,
  2. Are sick or out for an extended time stay connected with their peers and remain up-to-date with concepts and topics in the classroom, and
  3. Need alternative ways to connect with the teacher and have a voice in the classroom.
I look forward to the discussions that will help us all move toward the achievement of our goals.

I hope to promote an engaging and open minded platform for varying points of view. Youth audiences today seem to be primed for this kind of anonymity (social media promotes this, where one doesn't have to be in the room necessarily to engage in sensitive topics and be less worried about their shyness or hesitancy, which can be conquered to some degree in this regard.]]> 2021-07-07 13:41:09 UTC https://padlet.com/grant129/kq6kyt9gw5ja3sl9/wish/1640375338 What are my intentions/goals for my learning in this course? slclubec https://padlet.com/grant129/kq6kyt9gw5ja3sl9/wish/1640386064 And yet, I want to be able to use these tools in conjunction with solid paper books and solid pencil/pen activities.  I realize that this may alienate me from many platforms, but I do not have reliable internet access and that issue is not going to be resolved in the near future.  My students struggled with access at home and given the lack of momentum, I feel that I lost them along the way.  I have to trust the materials I have at my disposal, and right now that is a paper book which doesn't need to be plugged in, which can survive a classroom use from year to year, etc.  I am grateful for the time it takes to write a reflective response, first with paper and pen, and then to revise with google docs, a platform that instantly promotes conventions, good grammar, accurate spelling.  Anyway, that's where I'm coming from.
