My parents didn’t have enough money to come too, but they wanted me to spend some time with my cousin before she left for college. I loved it so much. The air in California is so much different, it feels cleaner and fresher, though that could just be the ocean air. I got to spend some time with my family, along with see all the beautiful things California has to offer. I was most scared for the plane ride, I had ridden on a plane before but never by myself. It turned out to not be that bad, and I liked the freedom that came with being on my own. The first day I arrived we spent the day in San Francisco. I loved the bustling city life, the exotic street fashion, the hippie bars and towering buildings. I felt like I was at home, completely surrounded by strangers who wouldn’t take a second glance at me because I was just another civilian in millions. It was freeing. I spent the rest of my trip in Sacramento. We went to food trucks, book stores, underground concerts, and stores that I had never even heard of before. It was interesting to be immersed in a culture I had yet to experience. I got to go to Santa Cruz and the state fair. I also got to see where my dad grew up and got to see places that he loved. My favorite thing in California was seeing my family. I barely ever see them since they live so far away and it was really nice to be able to reconnect with them.
