Ours and the mentees states of mind are crucial in order to carry out the pacing and leading sessions with our mentees. It is pertinent to remember not to ask leading questions during a pacing session. We must be ready to be flexible and switch our intervention strategies according to the entry levels of our mentees for each nentoring session.

Pacing - Giving them time to say how they feel and what they are thinking is very important to bridge our relationship... Using sentence prompts instead of questions is less intimidating. Once they feel more comfortable then we can enter the leading/ mentoring phase with harmony. Ultimately, we want to achieve a win-win situation.
