The problem is that women in Saudi Arabia are not given the same rights as men. They are tortured molested and raped and it is completely fine for men to do that if they marry their victim. Suicide rates are increasing in Saudi Arabia due to women being not able to get justice for being touched without consent. A women needs 4 male witnesses to actually be able to have the molester be found guilty. Women don’t have a voice in Saudi Arabia and men still haven’t done much to change that!

Saudi men are one of the root causes because of the shariah law. The shariah law states that, “A woman or girl who has been raped cannot testify in court against her rapist(s). A man can marry an infant girl and consummate the marriage when she is 9 years old. A man can beat his wife for insubordination. A woman cannot speak alone to a man who is not her husband or relative.” This law makes most normal rights that women would have here in america not applicable for women in Saudi Arabia. Of all legal systems in the world today, the Sharia law is the most intrusive and restrictive, especially against women. Most of this is caused also because men think that they are superior to women. Its 2019 and most places around the world have equaled out.

How has the problem affected the community directly? B

This problem is affecting the community directly because women are being treated like minors and have strict rules that have been abiding against them for around 87 years. This has caused many women to go into depression and commit suicide because they cannot escape the harsh rule against them. Men are still convinced that god made men to rule over women and do not want old religions to fade away. Saudi men are listening to rules that are outdated for modern customs. The Saudi community is slowly trying to make their community better but if they don’t hurry up their country will forever be scarred.

This issue is causing thousands of women and girls to be sent to jail for trying to have a better life this causes many suicides and the world needs to help these women out. Women are not humanely treated. Men have priority and dominance over women there while the rest of the world is working for equality and peace. Suicide rates are going up because barely anything is being done in Saudi Arabia to be equal. The world should help out the women there for more equality.

One of the things that are currently being done to address the problem is one case where a women was put in jail for insulting an islam a few citizens from Canada stood with her to get her out of Canada. Another action being done to address the problem is that all across social media people are posting articles and pictures of women being abused. This really makes an impact because more people across the world are learning about women's hardships in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is slowly working to make their country better but it will take time and patience to become a almost fully equal and diverse country like America. One example of Saudi Arabia working to create a more equal country is that in 2017 King Salman said that women are able to have public services without needing male consent to do so. This shows some change in the community but not much.

It was my 43rd day in prison. There is always crying from the other cells and stale hard bread lacked nutrition. It was getting too hard to go on. Who would want to bail me out of prison? All my friends had secretly escaped out of Saudi Arabia to get a better life and not be discriminated against. Instead, I got married to a man I did not like at all. He worked at a gas station close to my house and whenever my brother let me come outside he would try to touch me and kiss me it was terrible. Then one day he wanted to marry me and got my brothers consent! At the informal wedding none of my friends attended because they were busy sneaking out to find freedom. The gas station owner's male friends and two other wives attended and so did my brother. That night after the wedding I was so upset that I screamed and woke up the neighborhood. I then found a vase and hit my new husband over the head. The police were immediately called and I was sent to prison for life.
