I chose this picture because it represents how important plants are to human life. This picture shows that without plants human beings could not exist. Plants and humans are codependent on each other to flourish. Our society would not be able to survive without plants while our environment would not survive without humans or plants.

I chose this video because it is very cheesy and makes me laugh while also being informative. It gets stuck in your head which helps you remember how photosynthesis works. It makes the process seem simple and easy to understand as well so that is helpful in understanding the overall process of photosynthesis.

I chose Aquatic Biomes. Recently, I watched a documentary on how our Coral Reefs are being destroyed and it was devastating to watch. This is the largest biome that we have on our planet. Our oceans are home to many species and if our oceans are polluted we will lose many of these species. I think it is easy to feel sad when we see pictures of sea animals being harmed due to waste thrown into the ocean but without proper care and change these animals suffer as well as the ocean itself. Another issue being found within this biome is overfishing. Overfishing occurs when marine species are caught faster then they can reproduce. This happens when larger and larger ships are being sent out and many more aquatic organisms caught than we need to. I think a way to fish this specifically would be for families to try to eat vegetarian at least one day a week.

The Agriculture Revolution created a surplus of food. It was more food than ever before due to new tools and new crops. One of these tools were called the the seed drill which was an tool that allowed seeds to be planted deep into the ground instead of the top where they could easily be washed away or lost. The percent of people dying from starvation decreased dramatically. Since the farms were no longer needing a surplus of workers the population moved inward to cities to create their lives and build homes. This changed the dynamic of the entire population.

The population had begun modifying the seeds of the crops they had been growing. This led to mass production of certain crops because of their ability to adapt the seeds for the environment that they were going to be used in. This is a huge contrast to the earlier generations of hunting and gathering. They combined these new seeds with the use new irrigation systems. They had a lot more seeds than before which called for a lot more water so the creation of irrigation systems fit for their needs was inevitable.

I decided to pick the chemical that makes Aspirin important. Aspirin is the most widely used medicine in the world. I think Aspirin is really important to human kind because of the problems like fever or headache that it treats. The active chemical within Aspirin is salicylic acid which comes from willow bark. It was used as a remedy in the 5th century which is amazing considering how the world of medicine has evolved since then yet it has stood the test of time.

I chose this photo because of how important I think air quality is. In other countries like China who have neglected to care about their air quality until it is too late. Some people don't even realize that house hold cleaners can be bad for your air quality. I think that just because everyone has a gas powered car it makes it seem like cars aren't that big of a deal in regards to pollution. Electric cars are readily available and have been made at a cheaper price point so people can not make as many excuses as to why they don't own one.
