I also feel as though Olives Headphones can be a piece of iconography for a road trip for some kind of entertainment. Last but not least the van being there mode of transportation is what gives this film the road trip feel.

Little Miss Sunshine definitely gets full credit when it comes to the plot. The family travels from New Mexico to California. Along the way they make multiple stops along the way to their destination.

In the Film Olive, Grandpa, and Sheryl were the only people that were excited for the road trip. Everyone else was very wary. When I think of a road Trip more than half the participants at least feel the same way. Than the movie ends with this awkward/uplifted feeling. Over all I do not believe Little miss sunshine meets the requirements for Mood.

I feel as though little miss sunshine had some parts that were road trip style cinematic style. When they had the tracking shots for the van. There were a lot of close ups though so I feel like the cinematic style fits more into Tragic Comedy.

Although the movie does not take place in side like most tragic comedies. All of the more tragic parts take place in a tragic location. A hospital room, The emergency room, An open field. The movie starts off in a hospital because the uncle( name) tried to kill himself. The dad finds out his goals and his way out of debt wont go through. Then as they are on the road trip the grandpa dies so they are in a hospital again. Finally the last tragic thing happens in the middle of a field when dylan finds out he wont be able to fulfill his dreams do to a condition hes born with.

In all tragic films there is the character that something happens to and the people who react. In this film there's something tragic or disappointing to every character. Then there is funny things and jokes for comedic relief.

If a plot for a Tragic Comedy is starting out with a struggle and then ending with a comedic moment then this movie nails it. Through out this movie the characters struggle brings them closer and the movie ends with them all coming together for olive by dancing on stage like a bunch of loons.

For a tragic comedy the mood is on point. Everyone in this film has some sort of sad or depressing thing happen to them. In the end all of the characters except for the grandpa who died. That is depressing on its own. Were able to pull themselves together and dance with Olive.

There was a lot of close up in this film. The film opens with a close up of Frank. Then the camera movies slowly past the other characters to introduce them. So over all I believe this movie did well with Cinematic style of a Tragic Comedy. There was quite a few moments of complete silence or slower songs.

This movie is a perfect hybrid. The purpose of the hybrid was most likely to make a more interesting tragic comedy by adding in the Road Trip. To push the message that no matter how bad things get the people around you will be there to support you and get you back on your feet. When it comes to certain aspects or points in the film the movie could stand on its own for either genre. When I started to break down the six different parts of the film I was thoroughly impressed with how well each part of the genres stood out. Except for Cinematography in the Road Trip category. I just could not look past the amount of Close ups.
