Effects of the Airplane:

*Commercial flights began in 1914
*The airplane advanced heavily between the first and second World War
*Use of the airplane was mostly for military use
*1936-the airplanes popularity grew. The first affordable flights were available
*International flights were not attempted in the early 20th century
*They did not impact international migration
*The impact of airplanes on work was limited. Few people actually worked as pilots/jobs relating to airplanes. However, factory jobs were available and economy boosting.
*Private jets influenced leisure habits slightly. Causing quick trips to be more accessible.
*Large public jets made travel to far away places more popular

*Made transportation accessible to the common person
*Made transportation more efficient
*Started an "Economic revolution" (ushistory.org)
*Created the opportunity for "weekend getaways"/make leisure activities far away more accessible
*Made individuals more independent and able to get away from home
*Made international migration by land possible, but not overly popular

*The twentieth century started the decline in popularity of the railway system
*As automobiles and airplanes grew in popularity, the railway began to be a thing of the past
*Transportation of goods was still being done by the railways
*Traveling on a railway became something for railways go-rues or explorers/historians
*People that were once involved on the railroads we most likely not apart of it any more
*Railway jobs became severely less popular
*There are little-no international railways, so international migration was insignificant
