This statement shows that there are two sides to racial disparities in supreme court rulings. It opens up a new perspective to just how racially discriminated supreme court case rulings are. Although most acknowledge the offender's side as discriminated against, the victim also plays a part in how likely you are to get sentenced to death.

This allows readers to paint a picture of how unjust rulings are. The crime bill passed in 1994 allowed for more offenses to be added to the list of everything you can be accused of to receive the death penalty. Although this only accounts for one state out of 50+, 4x is an extremely large number and shouldn't be ignored no matter the sample size. There are other similar statistics on the site that show mirrored results when investigating death penalty sentences and ultimately give the reason for people to assume that they are ultimately discriminatory against people of color.
