I use slides to create letter/sound games that I can reuse ever year. I also use slides to create mini-lessons on new phonics concepts and give students options to interact by coming up to the board to identify letters, sounds, vowels, or read CVC words or simple sentences.

I teach integrated thematic units that require a lot of research and context building for students. I use slides to create "kinder versions" of concepts that are very visual and include links to short video clips. This allows me to teach larger concepts in simpler, kid-friendly ways as well as store all my work for easy access year to year.

Many curriculums that I have used, especially Math and Science, provide links to Google Slide presentations for the classroom. This is a great teaching aide that makes lesson planning easier and information more accessible to kids. I can make a copy of the pre-made presentations and make my own edits by hiding certain slides or rearranging the order to tailor it to my lesson.
