Explain the act
It stated that the colonists could not settle west of the Appalachian mountains.
Why did the British pass it?
They passed it so they can keep peace between the Native Americans. They also wanted to keep the colonists closer to the coast so they can control them more.
How did the Colonist react?
The colonists started to grow a distrust with the British. The colonist also felt that their freedom was limited so some of the colonist went over the proclamation line any way.
