Antonio and Sebastian are the complete opposite of Gonzalo; Sebastian was more angry than fearful. He has no respect for the others onboard, and doesn't care about the other people on the ship, he wants to save himself rather than live out the storm. 
Antonio is respectful and more loyal to the king. He cares about the rest of the people caught up inside the storm. Neither of them really understood Gonzalo's perspective about the whole situation.

Ariel saw an end in sight and excitedly did what was asked of him because he knew that he would eventually get his freedom.
Caliban served as punishment because he sexually assaulted Miranda. He was considered more like a slave because he didn't know when service was going to be over. And Miranda hasn't known anyone that's human other than her father, so this new "thing" that suddenly wants her is going to have her manipulated into wanting him back.
