1. How does Gonzalo behave during the storm? Antonio and Sebastian? What clues from the play develop their character? Of course, as it is a play, there is no narrative, so what do they say that develops their character?

He has no respect for the others onboard, and doesn't care about the other people on the ship, he wants to save himself rather than live out the storm.
Antonio is respectful and more loyal to the king. He cares about the rest of the people caught up inside the storm. Neither of them really understood Gonzalo's perspective about the whole situation.
The two were more pessimistic and upset about everything that was going on.

Both of them have different thoughts about being a servant. Ariel is more humble about being a servant because he was saved by Prospero. He wanted his freedom, but wasn't completely against serving; he enjoyed what he did. Ariel saw an end in sight and excitedly did what was asked of him because he knew that he would eventually get his freedom.
Caliban served as punishment because he sexually assaulted Miranda. He was considered more like a slave because he didn't know when service was going to be over. He grudgingly did his tasks and made it very known that he hated what he was doing.

4. In what way are Miranda and Ferninand like characters in a fairy tale? Why might Shakespeare portray them in this way?

They are like characters in a fairy because instantly fell in love with each other. In a sense, Ferdinand was in emotional distress and thought that his whole family died in a shipwreck. So as the first person he sees, he's obviously going to fall in love with her and want to keep her. And Miranda hasn't known anyone that's human other than her father, so this new "thing" that suddenly wants her is going to have her manipulated into wanting him back.
They portrayed it that way because they wouldn't have enough time in the play to let it slowly progress; the choose to do it instantly so that everyone saw this as an important detail.
