Two reasons why government/laws are important because He is most known for his Code of laws (the first set of written laws), and collected taxes and made lots of structures. Hammurabi’s Code of Laws tells me that was a written set of rules to follow that covered most aspects of life Influenced the lives of Babylonians helped create our system of rules- clear rules and clear punishment. Explain why Hammurabi’s Code of Laws was important to Mesopotamia AND why it is important today he created the first set of written laws and was the start of a fair justice system.

Examples of art in Mesopotamia were poems, stories, and writing. The art of Mesopotamia has survived in the archaeological record from early hunter-gatherer. Bronze Age cultures of the Sumerian, Akkadian, Babylonian and Assyrian empires. The reasons they may have had this art was so they remember the things that they did, remember who died and have memories.
