I chose this picture of the Schlieffen Plan in action because it was the stupid plan that began World War I. It shows how power hungry Germany was and how they showed up expecting to go to war and win easily with countries they had beat before, however this plan only began a war that ensued over 20 Million deaths

I chose this picture because I think it shows the harsh conditions of the trenches. Flooded with water and the grenaded ground around them the conditions were far from sanitary. The destroyed land around the trench also indicates lots of battles and back and forth, but as we know, not much movement between sides took place. Finally, the trenches were a wake up call for the soldiers "gung ho" war attitude as they were faced with these conditions.
