The transition South Africans indured, from the racist apartheidsregime to a democratic state, in which everyone has the same rights, probably wouldn’t have been possible without Nelson Mandela. His personal integrity, his will power and his enforceability led South Africa after the apartheid through all inner and outer conflicts in this decisive stage of South Africas' history.

Nelson Mandel has helped a great part developing equal rights for black as well as white people. Til today the peoples' thinking has been been influenced by him. The world would think different without him.

Black people were banned from the city center. It was also forbidden for white and black people to meet at public places. The majority of black people didn't have a stable water and electricity supply. Mandela began as the CEO of the African National Congress ,,ANC“ to fight for the rights of black people. His organisation was forbidden from South Africa and he was given the order to either leave the country or go to jail. He didn’t want to leave his country and was sent to the prison. After 26 years in prison, Mandela was released with the help of President Frederick Klerk (President of South Africa at the time). Both recieved the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 for their fight against racism. One year later Mandela became the first black president of South Africa.
