I notice that my grades are reflective of student ability. I feel like I have a really good understanding of each student's progress and how well they are understanding the concepts we are going over. Although this can be daunting, students continually have the ability to improve scores after feedback is administered and they are provided additional guidance. I like the switch over to rubrics. The concern I have the most has to do with student/family understanding this type of learning and grading. Our students are already very disconnected, I have a feeling that further confusion on students over what's expected of them and how they're being assessed will lead to more disinterest in completing any work. An issue that I believe is already a serious one. How will we educate our students on this?
