A profile with a picture catches the eye faster than a profile without a picture. This is important to stand out from others. 
2.     LinkedIn has an option to add a background to your profile. This is your chance to show your creativity and add a little colour to your page.
3.     If you’re trying to be found more easily by future employers, you should put terms relating to your profession in your headline.  
4.     Write a short but powerful description/summary about yourself and your strong personal traits.
5.     Every LinkedIn user has a public profile url. You could customize it in order to make it look more professional. 
6.     Make sure your contact information is complete. It should include your email adress, phone number, etcetera.
7.     Mention your professional skills. Your network/connections can endorse these skills, which shows that multiple people think you are skill full.
8.     List your work experience and internships. Mention your position and responsibilities. Try to keep it as briefly as possible. The same goes for education.

4. Try to find the things that make you special. A hobby, a talent. something that makes you stand out from the crowd. 

5. Keep it up to date. Recruiters only look at the profiles which are constantly updated.     Do’s:

    • Stay positive. Don’t make any negative comments because it will reflect on you.

    • Fill the resume in because it will give everyone a better picture of you.

    • Chare your knowledge with others.

    • Take a good professional picture of yourself.

    • Take time to build your connection. It will benefit you in the future.

    • Stay active on your page even if you found your dream job. Your network will always come useful.

    Don’ts

    • Don’t use terms like creative, effective or problem solver because it doesn’t say much about you. Use more specific terms. 

    • Don’t be a stalker. You can take look at someone’s page but don’t overdo it.

    • Don’t put everything on LinkedIn. Stay professional. 

    • Always be honest

    • Don’t be afraid to connect with other people. You never know what comes out of it.

    • Don’t accept everyone on LinkedIn. You need to be selective about your network.
