         <description><![CDATA[<div>Bacilus anthracis is an infectious disease that can cause anthrax.&nbsp; Anthrax is found in soil and can harm and effect animals and humans.&nbsp; It is very rare in the U.S. but people can still become sick if they come in contact with an infected animal. It can be very harmful and serious in humans or animals. &nbsp;There are four types of anthrax: cutaneous anthrax, inhalation anthrax, gastrointestinal anthrax, and injection anthrax. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>There are two ways to treat anthrax.  One way to treat anthrax is with an antibiotic.  Another way to treat anthrax is with an antitoxin. Antitoxins attack the anthrax toxins to try to kill them. If the anthrax case is serious enough, one may have to receive other treatment like fluid draining or the use of a ventilator. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>People get anthrax when they have inhaled or touched the spores from the bacilus anthracis. Once it is in ones body it can multiply and spread throughout the body.  It can be acquired by drinking or eating something contaminated with the spores.  It can also be acquired by getting the spores in a cut or open wound.  Most anthrax is acquired by handling livestock animals or eating or drinking contaminated things. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Anthrax is very rare in humans and most will not be exposed to it.  If you are in an area where anthrax is common do not eat raw or undercooked meat. Make sure to avoid the animals in that area.  Do not pick up, touch, or come in contact with any carcasses or animal equipment. Be very aware that some animal hides have anthrax. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Symptoms of cutaneous anthrax include: swelling, itchy blisters or bumps and painless skin ulcer with a black center. &nbsp;<br>Possible symptoms of inhalation anthrax include: fever, chills, shortness of breath, chest discomfort, cough, confusion, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, stomach pains, headache, sweats, tiredness, or body aches.<br>Symptoms of gastrointestinal anthrax include: fever, chills, swelling of neck, sore throat, painful swallowing, hoarseness, nausea, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, headache, flushed face, red eyes, stomach pain, swelling stomach, or fainting.<br>Symptoms of injection anthrax include: fever, chills, small, itchy bumps may appear where it has been injected, or a painless and swelling black sore.</div>]]></description>
