It has a long standing history filled with many controversies around different human races. The US Department of Commerce’s Bureau of the Census has decided that there are four races in the US: Native Americans, African Americans, Asians and European Americans. Hispanic Americans are according to them not a race but an ethnic group. The majority of people in the United States are European American with 75.a% of the population, Asian are 3.6%, African Americans 12.3% and Native americans are only 0.7% off the people even though they are the original inhabitants of the nation. In 1865 Slavery was abolished in the US with the thirteenth amendment . Between 1882 and 1943 the Chinese Exclusion Act barred all chinese immigrations to the US. But because all of these groups where now in large minority in the US many unique cultures developt as they banded together and from this many music styles such as blues, jazz, rap and rock and roll developt in the US. But the most wel known race was not about weapons but about who had domincance in spaceflight capabilities. The space race originated from the missle based nuclear arms race between the two nations. As missiles become more and more advanced it became a posibility for man made objects to escape the earths gravity and as such a whole new frontier of exploration opend up. The space race began at August 2, 1955 when the soviet union responded to the US who was intending to launch a satalite by saying that they too would launch a satalite soon. The Soviet Union beat the US to launching a satalite in earths orbit and also managed to get a person up in space faster than the US did. Although the Soviet Union Managed to win these battles it is the US who won the “war” when they put the first man on the moon on July 20 1969. Because of this importance their laws are permissive and it is very common for private individuals to have their own firearms. About half of all American households have at least one firearm in their house because of this there are more firearms per capita and in total than any other country in the world. The right of the Americans to keep and bear arms is protected by the second amendment of the constitution which goes as following: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Because of this amendment their rights to keep arms can not be removed easily but even without this rule it would not be an easy task as the ownership of firearms is integrated in their culture to such a degree that the people would not allow any government to just take it away from them. They use these myth and legends to explain the relationship between the spirit world and the human world and also to explain natural phenomena. All of the designs and symbols they use on their traditional clothing all originate from these old myths and believes. Although there are many different native American cultures around with each their own myths and legends there are still allot of similarities between them. Among all of these different stories the most common that they all have is probably the creation myths that explain how the earth was formed and where humans come from. But there are many more that explain a variety of matters from the stars in the sky to the smallest rocks on the earth or how the weather works. These myths and legends however are not just mere fun stories to tell children before they sleep. These stories are a way of preserving their culture and legacy.
