This chapter is wrapping up all concepts, principles, ideas, and skills that authors brought into that book, and guiding parents to know how and when to be firm and persistent when setting up the rules and boundaries for their children. Applying that those concepts in a respectful manner without harming child's self-esteem.

One example in the chapter was about how a three year old felt cranky in the mornings, and how when the mother points out the child's feelings it makes him feel better getting it out in the open. One day the mother felt cranky because she was late and the child said "feeling cranky mom" this shows that the child was learning from experience with being cranky and knew what to do to make it better.

This chapter focused on the Native Tongue of kids, which revolves around the idea that kids will pick up on emotion and feelings, they will use prior knowledge of that feeling/emotion, and try and deal with it whether it is themselves or another person who is dealing with it.

In The Letters the authors discuss different letters from their readers. There were many thankful parents who wrote about the success they had when using the tips from the book. They included that not only did they notice their own children's changes but people around them started to notice and asked about how they achieved that. The authors discuss that their book and the tips given can help teenagers or older children as well, and emphasize it is never too late to start. It was not only parents who wrote in, but some children even wrote in explaining that it helped them through their trauma from their parents. They also had teachers write in to discuss how it helped them in their classroom as well as classroom management.
Yes, but...What if...How about...?
In this chapter they discuss how not all feedback was positive. They got letters from parents who said it did not work for them or it did not go into enough detail to help them in certain situations. For example when it came to the topic of giving children two choices one mom gave her son two choices but he chose the choice she did not want him to choose. The authors suggest that when giving children choices make sure the choices are both good options.

It made the discussions more interesting and took some of the pressure off me as a student to not have to read and focus on an entire book, but still learn the information from it.
