I believe reflective writing can be helpful to both students and teachers in the classroom. Reflection is one of the most important parts of improvement. It requires more detail and structure which allows for better connections to be made within the writing. As teachers, being able to model reflective writing for our students can expand their abilities and set good writing standards for the future.

Reflective writing to me is reviewing specific skills that enhance my writing so I can become a stronger writer. I should reflect on my experiences with writing because it will lead to confidence in my writing abilities, and it will allow me to recognize mistakes I make along the way. Today, in my writing college course, I gained a strong understanding of reflective writing because I experienced it first hand. My professor had me write in my notebook, and later I realized it was for the purpose of reflection. I experienced that I was more willing to write a paragraph when I was given the option to do it in my own personal notebook with my own personal thoughts rather than feel pressured to share a wrong answer.

Reflective writing is a way for you to understand an experience or a level. I feel that if you are able to write about what you are learning and explain it then you are one step closer to mastery. This will also allow someone to uncover something or learn even more than during the actual experience. Reflective writing can also help a person discover things they might want to do differently and give feedback.

Reflective writing is when you recall information and how you felt/your opinion of it. It is a creative way to summarize and share information from your point of view. Students can reflect on their experiences and it can be helpful for them to review and fully understand information and what they still need to learn or any questions they still have about a topic.

Reflective writing draws on personal experiences while providing an opportunity to investigate, interpret, and analyze those experiences to plan for future successes. It is a way we can demonstrate our critical thinking skills through the examination of written works against our own lives, develop our opinions, and create meaning from what we are reading.
