1)Analog electronics is a branch of electronics that deals with a continuously variable signal. It’s widely used in radio and audio equipment along with other applications where signals are derived from analog sensors before being converted into digital signals for subsequent storage and processing. Although digital circuits are considered as a dominant part of today’s technological world, some of the most fundamental components in a digital system are actually analog in nature.

2)Example of analog electronics:A microphone

3)Ohm’s Law and Joule’s Law are commonly used in calculations dealing with electronic circuits.They uses
V = voltage (in volts)

I = current (in amps)

R = resistance (in ohms)

P = power (in watts)
Formula:
Voltage | V = I x R
Current | I = V/R
Resistance | R = V/I
Power | P = V x I or P = V2/R or P = I2R
--------------------------------------------------------------------

4)Digital electronics or digital (electronic) circuits are electronics that operate on digital signals. In contrast, analog circuits manipulate analog signals whose performance is more subject to manufacturing tolerance, signal attenuation and noise. Digital techniques are helpful because it is a lot easier to get an electronic device to switch into one of a number of known states than to accurately reproduce a continuous range of values.
5) Examples of Digital electronics : Tablets,laptops
6)[Example Exercise...Simplify the following expression: ABC’D + AB’C’D + A’BCD + AB’CD + A’BCD’ [3]
Answer Sub-Step 1: Using the above rules we can simplify the expression as follows [3]:
ABC’D + AB’C’D + A’BCD + AB’CD + A’BCD’
= ABC'D + AB'C'D + A'BCD + A'BCD'+ AB'CD
= AC'D(B+B') + A'BC(D+D') + AB'CD
= AC'D(1) + A'BC(1) + AB'CD
= AC'D + A'BC + AB'CD
= AC'D + AB'CD + A'BC
= AD(C'+B'C) + A'BC
= AD((C'+B')(C'+C)) + A'BC
= AD((C'+B')(1)) + A'BC
= AD(BC)' + A'BC

Using NI Multisim, open circuit file “logic_gates.ms12”. You will notice the circuit below.The above circuit shows the different connections of logic gates used to control a machine (indicated by an LED) in a workshop. There are On/Off switches, micro-switches, as well as emergency stop switches available (SW1 &SW2, SW3 & SW4, SW5 & SW6 respectively).
Answer Sub-step 2: Based on the circuit above, determine the switch combination that will turn the machine on.
Based on the individual truth tables for each of the logic gates, we start from the far right working our way back to determine the combination of bits or switches that will enable the LED to turn on or in other words the output of ‘U5’ to be equal to 1.

1. Analogue electronics (American English:analog electronics) are electronic systems with a continuously variable signal, in contrast to digital electronics where signals usually take only two levels.
2. Analog circuits are usually complex combinations of op amps, resistors, caps, and other foundational electronic components. This is an example of a class Banalog audio amplifier.
3. VoltageV = I x RCurrentI = V/RResistanceR = V/IPowerP = V x I or P = V2/R or P = I2R
4. Digital electronics or digital (electronic) circuits areelectronics that operate on digital signals. In contrast, analog circuits manipulate analog signals whose performance is more subject to manufacturing tolerance, signal attenuation and noise.
5. A good example of a digital electronicsystem is a mobile phone. As you speak into the phone, the digital electronic circuits it contains converts your voice into a series ofelectronic pulses (or 1s and 0s). These are transmitted and the receiving mobile phone then converts the digital pulses back into your voice.
6. Digital electronics are those electronics systems that use a digital signal instead of an analog signal. Digital electronics are the most common representation of Boolean algebra and are the basis of all digital circuits for computers, mobile phones, and numerous other consumer products.
