Eid Ul-Fitr

Eid ul-Fitr is an Islamic holiday immediately following Ramadan. It’s a time for family to get together and to celebrate with loved ones with gifts and amazing food. The translation means “the festival of breaking the fast”. It’s traditional to break each fast during Ramadan with dates, but for Eid, it’s Maamoul cookies. Maamoul cookies are date filled cookies with pistachios and occasionally chocolate. Eid ul-Fitr is expected to take place on Sunday 30th March 2025 or Monday 31st March 2025, depending on the sighting of the moon. The Islamic calendar operates on the lunar cycle. With the ending of Ramadan, Shawwal starts which is the 10th month in the calendar.
