Growing up in a left leaning family has me also leaning more left on most issues in our government and country. But, my best friend has a very conservative family and we've both grown up hearing and discussing our families values and beliefs. We both learned how to discuss such matters with open minds and respect from a young age. not to just talk about my political views, but they very much impact the religious areas of our lives, because our values align with different things. Not only my family, but my best friend have all impacted the way I view the world and feel about it. Like I have gone to the women's rights march in DC, I did that a while back in grade school. I was excited about going, I didn't really understand but my aunt really is into that stuff and wanted me to experience it, but my mom told me i wasn't really allowed to talk about it or anything at school since my grade school was filled with right-wing families and beliefs. The picture inserted is one from that march.

09/09/24 - Reflect on your future aspirations and career goals. Are they primarily motivated by your personal interests and the pursuit of self-fulfillment, or do they also include a desire to contribute to the greater good of society?

My future career goal is to be a 1st grade teacher, though my main goal for the future is to have a loving and happy family. So having a family and kids is fulfilling to me because I want to contribute good and loving people into society, and just I want to love them with all my heart. I want to be a teacher because I think getting to teach people all the basic things they'll know for the rest of their lives is so awesome, and I want to, again, help these children feel so loved and be good kind people. So really both go hand in hand with self fulfillment and the good of society.

(^this tiktok made me cry yesterday lol)

Im gonna be totally honest with you right now. the idea of trump being president makes me like emotional. Ive always been liberal I grew up that way, but going to catholic school my whole life I've been surrounded by the verse and obviously like I'm open to hearing the other side and there ae somethings I'm on the fence about, I'm not like crazy. but 1) having a rapist, racist, felon as the president is SUCH a horrible rolemodel for men or boys in general. showing everyone around the world that's the kind of person you can be and have a weird cult standing behind you. I think its horrible and its breaks my heart. 2) my own rights as a woman. My boyfriend agrees with me on TONS of stuff, but if he could vote tomorrow he'd vote for trump and I wish I could get past it but thinking about it makes me want to cry. He'd be our oldest president and if eh died on term we'd have vance as our president, trump is gross and stupid, vance is a literal threat to our country and my rights as a woman. Its never really hit me this hard, but I've really REALLY been feeling in this election. Im really sad I cant vote. Im really proud my family can vote for my rights and will. I find it actually disgusting that people even look at trump and think "oh yeah he's my guy". I think people are littlerly brainwashed, everything he stands for and the man he is isn't even reflecting of Jesus's teachings whatsoever and it really upsets me. He thinks he's his own God, people look at him that way and it genuinely disturbs me. Im scared for the future four country. Kamala isn't perfect. but everyone expects her to be flawless while trump gets to be lawless. that's a quote I saw that I truly think resonates with this topic, I think its really unfair of people to not look at the facts. I mean Kamala even have like 26 Nobel Prize winning scientists and economic people backing her and her policies up. It really just shatters my heart.

12/13/2024 Pope Francis and migrants

What do you think Pope Francis means when he calls rejecting migrants a “grave sin”?

I think he means they're people too, and refusing them a home, hope, and a chance at a better/new life is unbelievably unfair. the bibles speaks on loving your neigbor as ourself, and not opressing people, and thats what is happening.

Why is it important to treat migrants with love and compassion?

Becuase they're not coming over here to ruin our country, they're coming to build better lives, reconnect with family, and are people too. there REAL people, with lives and families and feelings just like ours, and many people treat then as if they are other.

Have you ever witnessed or experienced situations where people were treated unfairly because they were seen as “outsiders”? How did it make you feel?

I have in films before, and it upset me because genuinely there is no excuses for being racist or so unfair as I have seen. I could never come up with a thought or reason to why people are so unfair and nasty to immigrants and popelpe of different races.

What can you do in your own life to help others feel welcomed and included?

I can support and educate people on this issue, trying to bring awareness to what really matters and is happening in our country. I can volunteer, donate, and do service with organizations that are for the good change that needs to be brought up in our world.

Write your thoughts, feelings, or any personal experiences that come to mind as you reflect on these words.
