1a. Bradbury tries to create a perfect world without books, but it can't be completely done.
1b. Technology can be used to fix the world and make it perfect, but it also creates new problems.
1c. Restricting the freedoms of many people can lessen knowledge and fuel depression

2a. "'Are you happy?' she said" (Bradbury 10). Behind everyone's mask to the rest of society is their true self. It is hidden because it is considered not normal, and there are restrictions in life that prevent who you are from showing.
2b) "'We do need knowledge'" (Bradbury 86). Later in the book, rebellious Guy Montag realized who he really was, and what he has done to contribute to society. He decided to read a few books, and try to understand what they really meant. The rest of society don't understand what they can be with all the knowledge, but they only care about their technology, without being as happy as they can be.

1) - Nature can not be stopped
     - Technology can be used in a good or bad way.
     - Addiction to technology is only a result of our failure to know when to stop.
     -Knowledge is the ultimate happiness.
2) - "...But perhaps they will do that tomorrow,"
They (technology) can numb you if you do not do something.
     - "Montag listened. Nothing. Nothing."
When he listened, he realized that man had caused an fake calm environment and that everything he thought was "nothing" actually had plenty of sound.
3) -Technology is like a blood-sucking mosquito

1. Technology is useful unless it's used in the wrong way, it can lead to equality which takes away individuality, and the more you use technology, the less likely you are to think on your own.
2. Books have "quality" and "texture" (Bradbury 83). They're meaningful, and people don't know that since they don't ever read.
"He was not happy" (Bradbury 12). Montag admitted that he was depressed and living in a world of darkness because there is something that is missing in his life. He's missing the knowledge he could gain from reading books.

1) In "F451", Bradbury and in "They Have Not Been Able" they both feel trapped a repetitive day. They both feel like their freedom is being prohibited by a ruler. They both use tone and mood to express the dark feeling.
2) ..."because perhaps they will also prohibit that tomorrow."
"how many copies of the bible are left in the country."

1. enjambment of sentences represents the repetitiveness of the society and how it is idol.
2.Technology fills the problem of equality, but creates another problem of a blandness and depression.
3. The abuse of power can limit the abilities of all individuals under that power.
Quotes: "but perhaps they will do it tomorrow," and "perhaps they will also prohibit that tomorrow."
"never--quite--touched--bottom--never--never--quite--no not quite--touched,"(Bradbury 42), "What a shame. You're not in love with anyone,"(Bradbury 19).

3) Technology will rid the world of the problem of equality but will create a society of blandness and a definite questioning of knowledge.
No matter what you do to a person, you can't deny them the freedom of free will
Prohibition of a mans tomorrow will always lead him to live in the day
2) "'How many copies of the bible are left in the country' 'None! You know as well as I do. None!'"
"They have not been able to take away the rain's song, not yet, not even in this cell, but perhaps they'll do it tomorrow, that's why I want to enjoy it now. "

3)Bradbury is using anaphora to express how the days repeat in F451, he is using enjambment to get points across on how days can be extremely long, and technology is filling up the feeling of equality BUT is creating a time of darkness and depression.

1a. Something that was written in the 1950's and was science fiction at the time, now seems somewhat true. Its almost as if Bradbury could see into the future
1b.Even though people in the book want to extinguish the knowledge found in books, its human desire to want to know more, and there will always be those who defy "the norm" in an effort to continue to learn and gain knowledge
1c. Technology in the book was running the lives of people, in much the same way, that technology is beginning to run peoples lives today. Addiction is a real concern as the book has gone past addiction to the point they only rely on that.
2a. On page 106, Beatty and Montag get into a fight about the usefulness of books. Beatty is trying to convince Montag to, "Stick with the firemen, Montag. All else is dreary chaos!". Meanwhile, Faber is telling Montag in his ear piece to watch out and not listen to Beatty.
2b. "White Clown's on tonight!"(Bradbury, 74). Mildred is clearly addicted to her wall "family", and is telling her friend Ann her plans for the night, which is watching her addictive TV show.
3.
