Some war victors have usually collapsed due to the sheer amount of resources poured in the war effort. Furthermore, losing countries are targeted less by forces looking to conquer as the assumption of the losers having less valuables left. Examples like the American Revolution and the French and Indian War has shown what victory can gain for a country. However, others like North Vietnam and France show just how devastating winning a war can be.
