I'm Crystal! You know me from many, many, many emails, text messages, and GroupMe posts! As our team's Operations and External Partnerships Manager, one of my favorite work streams includes working closely with incoming corps members during the "Welcome to TFA/Onboarding" process! I am accountable for guaranteeing everyone stays on top of deadlines to make sure that on your first day of school-- your only concern is being the best YOU for YOUR students! Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband (Marquis) and our 2 daughters (Amya, 9 & Lillian, 3), going to the beach, cooking new recipes, watching Duke men's basketball, and reading history books while shamelessly eating too many Kit-Kit minis! Lol.

A leader that I admire is:

“Michelle LaVaughn Robinson a girl from the Southside.”- Barack Obama

Her evolving leadership alongside President Obama was inspiring to watch from start to finish. I’m also an advocate of selfless service, which she embodied throughout her tenure. As an attorney and our former FLOTUS, one of my favorite Michelle Obama quotes is:

“When I encountered doubters, when people told me I wasn’t going to cut it, I didn’t let that stop me—in fact, I did the opposite. I used that negativity to fuel me, to keep me going.”—a quote that has applied to my life at many times when I felt defeated!

Hey guys! I'm Morgan, a 2016 Corps Member! I'm from Montgomery, AL and went to school at Auburn University (War Eagle!!!). I majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Italian Studies and now teach Earth & Environmental Science at Eastern Guilford High School. Living in NC has been an adjustment, but a great adventure so far!
Outside of school, I like to travel, eat tacos and cheese dip, shop, read, and watch Netflix with my roomies (also corps members)!

A leader I really look up to is my father. He served in the US Air Force for 29 years and has truly been an example of what servant leadership looks like. He is humble, kind, full of integrity and wisdom, and always strives to be an example of leadership for my family and others.

Hi, my name is Latoysha Brown. I am a student at Indiana University majoring in Psychology and minoring in Counseling Psychology.

A leader I respect and admire is Iyanla Vanzant. One of my favorite quotes by her is “Choice is a divine teacher, for when we choose we learn that nothing is ever put in our path without a reason.” I admire the strength Vanzant’s embodies which can be seen through her life’s journey and work. I also admire Vanzant’s ability to turn negative thoughts and/or actions into positive learned lessons, behaviors and thoughts.

It's Nafeesha! Hello 2017s!!! I am the executive director of the NCPT region and so thrilled to welcome all of you as our next cohort of amazing corps members. I am responsible for overseeing all regional operations in the Triad area from corps member development and student learning to fundraising and state/federal level advocacy for the great work each of you will do in your classrooms. I am a NYC native, but NC has been home for over 12 years!

A leader I respect and admire is Audre Lorde. She is most known as the feminist and civil rights activist. During her era, the essence of womanhood was constantly in question and often times unaccepted in broader dialogue. To layer on what it meant to be a woman of color, it made matters even more complex. Audre excelled (in my opinion) at converging the physical state of the feminist era with the internal and often jarring emotional state of the being. Until this day, I make reference to her words that ignite strength and femininity within me. That's me below in the mustard with my NC A&T family! Aggie Pride! I do not have a spouse or children, but I do have a dog; Mikko (below).
