Night is about a Jewish boy and his dad. It is about how they are taken from their homes and forced to work in a concentration camp. They experience a harsh living style and a lot of dehumanization. This book and Escape From East Berlin are similar for many reasons, one is the way they are treated. They are both treated harshly and do not have much freedom. They experience dehumanization often, they also don't have much free will.

This article shows us about how life was like behind the Berin wall. it gives us insight and helps us understand more about the book. "Willis researched in-depth everyday life behind the wall, interviewing East Germans who lived during that period." (Bethany wagner) This quote shows us that this article is accurate and gets the information straight from the people living in that time period.

The piece of multi-model work that relates to the essential question is the book and movie series "The Hunger Games". This type of work cited compares to this question because of how there is a group of people or a kind of society that has all of the power in both of these books. The individual whose lives are affected by the group of power that controls the society around them is both either trying to get out or trying to stop it. The power that these own individuals have over their own life is very slim which is the reason why they have devoted themselves to trying and fix the life that they have.

This movie, The Force Awakens relates to the question by the character Finn. He answers the question of what power does an individual have on their life by his choices. He used to be a Stormtrooper, but he turned against his kind and joined the rebels. He ended up being important to the war and helping the rebels win battles. This shows that he has power of his own life and he has a lot of free will.
