         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Obesity </strong>is an abnormal accumulation of body fat, usually 20% or more over an individual's ideal body weight.<br><strong>Bariatrics</strong> is the study and treatment of obesity.<br><strong>Body Mass Index (BMI)</strong> is a person's weight in kilograms (kg) divided by his or her height in meters squared. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) now defines normal weight, overweight and obesity according to BMI rather than the traditional height/weight charts. </div><div><strong>BMI Subclasses:</strong></div><ul><li>Class 1:BMI of 30 to &lt;35</li><li>Class 2: BMI of 35 to &lt;40</li><li>Class 3: BMI of 40 and higher</li></ul><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Obesity Facts:</strong></div><ul><li>Approximately 1 in 3 adults  and 1 in 6 children are obese.</li><li>Most Americans do not eat a healthful diet and are not physically active at levels needed to maintain proper health.</li><li>Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes, which are among the leading causes of death. </li><li>Obesity significantly increases medical costs and poses a staggering burden on the U.S. medical care delivery system. </li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<h1><strong>The New Digital Diet: </strong> Some dieters rely on family and friends for support, while others turn to their computers and other smart devices for assistance. </h1><ul><li>Smart food scale- weighing and pre-portioning meals is not only a time saver but also can promote the mindset that food is fuel.</li><li>Personal activity trackers-include smart watches, rings, bands and bracelets that you can wear that can track your active minutes, active and resting heart rate, calories burned, distance, activity type, sleep duration, and steps.</li><li>Computers-have multiple uses with regards to weight loss; online blogging to keep track of experiences, exercise classes and support groups are just a few ways technology can save us time and assist us.</li><li> Up to 15% of cell phone owners use apps to manage their health- Apps, as most of us know are plentiful, and diet and exercise ones are on the rise. They are getting more personalized and specific to your needs; for example, there's one that tells you what to eat based on your favorite foods (for your iPhone; it's called intelli-Diet, there are also ones that help train you for a 5K and teach you how to use the intimidating-looking machines at the gym. </li></ul>]]></description>

Everyone benefits from exercise, regardless of age, gender or physical ability. </div><ul><li>Exercise controls weight.</li><li>Regular exercise helps prevent or manage many health problems and concerns, including:<ul><li>Stroke</li><li>Metabolic syndrome</li><li>High blood pressure</li><li>Type 2 diabetes</li><li>Depression</li><li>Anxiety</li><li>Many types of cancer</li><li>Arthritis</li><li>Falls</li></ul></li><li>Exercise improves mood, boosts energy levels, promotes sleep, </li></ul><div>The Department of Health and Human Services recommends at least 150 minutes a week of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes a week of vigorous aerobic activity, or a combination of moderate and vigorous activity. <br><br></div><div> Even small amounts of physical activity are helpful, and accumulated activity throughout the day adds up to provide health benefits. </div>]]></description>
