In my role as counselor during the sessions I will strive to maintain a Transformational Leadership style throughout the sessions. Students in the session will benefit because this style allows students to explore new things and ideas which will challenge preconceived notions about future goals. This leadership styles allows the counselor to support with information, resources and experiences that will be trusted by the individuals. Transformational Leadership styles allows for the counselor to motivate to fulfill and set short term and long term goals (Cherry, 2019).

Some factors that might present themselves during the sessions would be Instillation of Hope, Universality, and Direct Advice. Instillation of Hope would occur because students would learn effective ways of goal setting and college readiness. Universality would occur because members would all share similar backgrounds which will create unity and demonstrate that others struggle with similar things. Lastly, Direct Advice would take place because students are working within a collaborative team environment.

(Yalom's curative factors of group treatment, 1995).
