Taiwan’s healthcare system involves a health card ID that can be used at every clinic (of all types, dentist, dermatologist, pediatrician). It proves their healthcare coverage and stores their medical records. The system was first established in the 1990s and is a healthcare system that covers everybody on the island. Citizens pay for healthcare through taxes. It’s a good deal, but it is hard on the doctors and the hospitals are always crowded. I think America should try this system even though it has its cons. America’s healthcare system is extremely flawed and discriminatory towards minorities and people of lower economic status. I constantly hear complaints over their system. Most Americans don’t have any health insurance and it’s STILL very expensive for the government.

America is supposed to be “for the people” so they should do what is best for the people, which is making it so that medical help is available to EVERYONE, from the poor to the rich, from children to adults. If we can change healthcare to become like this, where everyone will be able to get treated, then I think it’s worth the money. Lives are priceless, so even if we have to pay a huge amount of money to get it, I still think we need to prioritize life.
