During the raid, they found that mostly the locally branded spices contain harmful substances like colored crushed rice husk. Basically, they used crushed wood to increase the weight of each packet. They also mixed the spices with carcinogenic colors to improve their look and feel of the packed spices.

Saffron is also known as Kesar that famous with their costliest spice in India for about three lakh rupees for one kilogram had been adulterated with various wild plants from dying parts and also with the colored gelatin fibers. Commonly the real saffron is difficult to get because it grows in certain limited regions with specific climatic conditions. They also are a rarity because during the dawn the pure stigmas of the saffron flower have to be harvested as after the dawn they lose their aroma and colour.

When we consume the product with adulterant like talcum powder it high risk to get cancer because talcum is made up from talc. Basically, this mineral made up of magnesium, oxygen, and silicon.  It also contains asbestos that highest chance to cause cancers in lungs when inhaled. Usually, the powder used to absorbs moisture and helps prevent friction, making them very important for keeping skin dry and help us to cut down rashes.

2. hyperactivity in children                                                            

Artificial coloring used in chili powder caused hyperactive in children behavior as examined by a 2012 paper published in “Neurotherapeutics”.The color used give major effects on ADHD in children. A meta-analysis of 15 double-blind clinical trials on a 2009 paper that was published in “Prescrire International mention that artificial color used as a food coloring will increase hyperactivity behavior in already hyperactive children. So they concluded that it is important for children to avoid from taking these artificial food colors.

 

3. skin irritation, sun sensitivity, allergic reactions, and skin discoloration.

Coal tar is very thick and dark liquid used as food adulterant that can cause all these sides affects for human consumption. Both dermal routes the of exposure and inhalation are declared as hazardous because coal tar considered as a carcinogen for the human. The risk of cancer is going to increase when we work with coal tar for paving of the roads. It also will produce “tar warts” when our skin expose to these compounds in long-term  exposure and it can progress to squamous cell carcinoma  

2.    Chili powder

           I.  12 per cent of water;

           II.  8 per cent of total ash;

           III. 1.3 per cent of ash  insoluble in dilute hydrochloric acid; and

           IV. 30 per cent of crude fibre;  and

Prepared a glass of water then put in a teaspoon full of chilies powder. Coloured water extracts the presence of artificial color. The presence of brick powder or sand examined by looking at the bottom of the glass, any grittiness that may be felt on rubbing the sediment. It also indicates the presence of soapstone when there is a soapy and smooth touch of the white residue at the bottom.

Prepared a glass of water then sprinkle the chili powder on that glass.  The formation of colored streaks conforming the presence of artificial colors used.

3.    Water-soluble coal tar color

Prepared water in a glass of tumbler then sprinkles a small quantity of chilies powder on the surface of the water. The presence of water-soluble artificial color can be proved by looking at the water-soluble color that will immediately start descending in color streaks.
