Suffragettes in Great Britain (they were heroines too) at the beginning of the 20th century. They fought for the right to vote at the risk of their lives.

Women's liberation movement in the sixties (for contraception, abortion, equality). Women's rights movement in Britain in the 60s: they fought for the principle of equal pay for equal work. The women Ford workers went on strike in 1968 (refer to the film "we want sex equality")...They won: the Equal Pay Act was passed in Parliament in 1970. It paved the way to a deep transformation of British society.

The civil rights movement in the USA which started with Rosa Parks's action In Montgomery, Alabama . Martin Luther King lead the movement which fought against legal segregation (the Jim Crow Laws). Songs and television helped spread the idea of equality.

In South Africa, Mandela's struggle against apartheid (he is a hero too!). He managed to dismantle apartheid which is a tremendous social progress.

Ne faites pas de listes. (On se moque que vous énumériez tout ce que vous avez étudié, on veut des têtes pensantes!)

Concluez de façon personnelle. Finissez sur une remarque optimiste... (c'est plus sympa!)

A la fin vous avez le droit de dire "in my opinion"
