I think this shows the psychological lens very well as it shows her true emotions of the incident in two different ways: when she is alone and when she has people around her.

I think this story shows more psychological lens, throughout the whole story it shows examples on how the character feels and the way she reacts to her husband's death. It also shows her thoughts and shows how she sees her sad reflection, her own type of way to facing reality of her situation.

The Psychological lens fits this story the best. The reason for that is because I found more examples of the lens being used in the text. There were many examples of the unconscious and conscious mind being used.

I think The Story of An Hour best lends itself to the Psychological lens because with the characters believing that Mr. Mallard was dead especially with Mrs. Mallard believing that he was dead, she was heart broken, but was unaware that he wasn't in the accident at all. She first worried about living by herself for the rest of life, but started to think about the positives of living independently without her husband when she realized she never really loved him and that she should independent for once. However the next day when her husband comes home, she dies from her heart problem due to her happiness. Everything seemed to happen mentally for Mrs. Mallard since in reality, she wasn't aware that her husband was still alive.

I think this story best lends itself to the Gender Lens because Mrs. Mallard when she found out her husband was dead she went into a room and kept saying how she was free talking about the male opression in her life and that now she can have her indepence and at the end of the story we see that she dies not from joy even though that is what the characters think but from dissapointment in seeing her husband and knowing that she will never be free from a man.

This story best lends itself to the Psychological lens because the news of Louise's husband dying puts her through so many emotions that affect her mental and physical health which brings different aspects of the psychological lens into the story. This includes repression, id, ego, supergo, etc.
