In my story the main character is named, Percy Jackson, he wanted to meet his real dad or find other people who understand how he feels. Until, he realized his dad was a god, to be exact Poseidon. Eventually, he decided he was going to find his dad. Then Percy realized his dad is getting accused of him stealing the Lightning Bolt of Zeus, so he helped his dad by getting the Lightning Bolt from Hades because he had stolen it instead of Poseidon, but told no one. Finally, Percy goes down to the Underworld to retrieve the Bolt.

During the car ride to Camp-Half-Blood the Minotaur pushed over their car and hurt Grover, Percy's best friend, and his mom in the process. After they climb out of the car his mom gets turned into dust by the Minotaur, and Percy gets enraged because loosing his mother. As soon as Percy realizes he starts fighting the Minotaur and kills it and blacks out.

"Anger replaced my fear. Newfound strength burned in my limbs-the same rush of energy I'd gotten when Mrs. Dodds grew talons," (Riordan 53). In this moment it was important to him because he had just lost his mother due to the Minotaur attacking them. It also describes how enraged he felt watching his mom disappear.

I can connect to this text because I had a friend who always freaked me out and said slurs like "Who is that over there in the corner?" or something else like that. He always said it in a dimly lit room which made it even scarier that he always did it staring right at the corner then quickly looking at me.

In the beginning of the book Percy was driving to Camp Half-Blood with his mom and Grover, but later in the car ride they got attacked by a Minotaur and he sadly lost his mom to the wrath of the Minotaur.

Later on he figures out his dad is Poseidon and he vows to find his dad some day.

In the story Percy learned how important friends and family were by loosing his mom and having his friends by his side. He eventually also found out about his dad and vowed to find him some day. It was very tough for him because he is only 12 years old and is in sixth grade as a Half-Blood or to be exact a demi-god.
