She lived with her father and brother in Brooklyn fact her mother decided to leave. She tries to follow her dreams of becoming a designer to make her father proud but while going through the process she disappoints him due to her poor decisions. This causes role strain due to the fact she feels like everything she does to make her father proud gets shut down. Her status symbols are how creative her father is and how she has the same creativity. Rufus used his creativity to pursue music and owned an art gallery while Jenny wished to take her creativity to make clothes.

Jenny has always had a passion for fashion. She idolizes Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen who are in the fashion industry. In the show she tries to become a self made fashion designer but it doesn't end up working out due to her trusting the wrong people. That was her role conflict. She was manipulated into tusting these people due to the fact she was so young. She found out what her worth was and how much talent she had. She decided to leave them in the past and move on. This causes her to have the achieved status because she worked really hard to make her dream come true. Her status symbol is the dress she made for Blair's Mothers clothing line. The dress she made was a success. This is what sparked her career. Later on in the show she starts to work for Blair Waldorf. She became a designer for Waldorf designs. She even comes out with a clothing line within the company called “J for Waldorf”. This is her master status because The clothing she made shows how successful her career was the clothing she made shows how successful her career was.

Jenny befriended her brother's girlfriend's little brother Eric. You can tell how much she cared for him in the beginning of the show. Eric tried taking his own life and Jenny was there to get him through it. This is what gives her the achieved status of being a friend. Her status symbol was them both being the forgotten younger sibling who looked up to the older people around them. Jenny idolized Blair Waldorf because she was so popular. She wanted to be just like her. Blair wasn't exactly liked. Many called her cruel and mean. The second Blair paid attention to Jenny she started changing to the point she started ignoring Eric. Her role performance as a friend towards Eric became bad until she faced the consequences of being someone she's not. She realized she was miserable while acting like Blair. This caused her to think about how she's been acting towards Eric.

Jenny gets a scholarship to the Constance Billard School for Girls. Her status symbols include her scholarship and her uniform. Later on in the show she gets expelled from Constance. This caused her to lack in her role performance of being a student. After getting expelled, she convinces her father to let her study at Waverly Academy which is a boarding school in Upstate New York.
