This hits right in the gut.

I love that it moved from the brutal pain of the last moments, when you finally know it's over, to the lovely joy of moving on and catharsis.

I really enjoy your perspectives on relationships. Overall such a cool series! It's both really relatable, and also clearly tells your unique story.

There is something profound and beautiful about the specific matters of little consequence you chose to highlight here. Yours are the tender burdens of emotional labor in relationship that are so often borne predominantly by women/femmes. As such, I find a layer of tragedy here: Where those matters are a point of connection of women, you write of them as the source of tension and distance.

This Spring book not only stands on its own two feet, but also feels like the completion of a cycle of grieving in the context of the other books. It reads less angry and hurt, as some of the previous books have, and more introspective. The imagery is stark (the determination of a snowdrop, reading Sylvia Plath like a town crier), the phrasing moving (a stranger in the land of Meanwhile). There is something about these particular poems that captures pain and resignation, but also hope. A fitting bookend.

This poem is hot, both literally and figuratively! As a person who absolutely is prone to setting themselves on fire to keep others warm, the imagery of immolation in this piece was deeply resonant to me.

The last line of the second stanza hit me square in the chest for that reason. The notion that no amount of self-generosity (or self sacrifice) can make someone change if they don't want to is a painful lesson that takes a long time to learn.

I can absolutely sense the layered agony and ecstasy of that split-open heart, and the multiple readings join to form a deeply moving composite image.
