She started off with poetry ranging in topics such as love and things to commemorate her husband. She then started writing ballads [“a poem or song narrating a story in short stanzas. Traditional ballads are typically of unknown authorship, having been passed on orally from one generation to the next as part of the folk culture” (Oxford)], rondeaux [“a thirteen-line poem, divided into three stanzas of 5, 3, and 5 lines, with only two rhymes throughout and with the opening words of the first line used as a refrain at the end of the second and third stanzas” (Oxford)], lays [“a short lyric or narrative poem meant to be sung” (Oxford], and complaints. (Britannica)

In this she wrote about women's heroisms and virtues. This book then had a sequel called Le Livre des trois vertus (Book of Three Virtues) and she wrote it in the same year. It contained writings about women’s roles in medieval society. Lastly, another famous work by her was the story of her life (L’Avision de Christine) again in the same year. (Britannica)

Christine de Pizan was one of them. She spoke up through her writing. Her book City of Ladies was the first impactful text in French literature to speak about defending women. Her writing educated many people across the era of the Renaissance and times after.
