It goes through the process of changing into a butterfly before your very eyes.<br><strong>Age/Audience:</strong>&nbsp;Pre-k to 1st; Students who are interested in life-cycles and insects would really like this colorful story of a hungry caterpillar who likes to eat anything and everything.&nbsp;<br><strong>Teaching Point:</strong>&nbsp;I would use this book to introduce students to the life cycles of butterflies.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

The town begins to chase the dog until finally Gracie gets tired and comes home to find her house peaceful and quiet again.&nbsp;<br><strong>Age/Audience:&nbsp;</strong>Pre-k to 3; This book is very funny, and would be great for all ages.&nbsp;<br><strong>Teaching Points:&nbsp;</strong>I could teach students about comprehension using this book as a mentor text.</div>]]></description>

I believe all children will be able to relate to the young boy in the book. This story really tells the joys and wonder of childhood.<br><strong>Teaching Point:&nbsp;</strong>I could teach seasonal changes, adjectives, and setting. I could use this as a mentor text for students to begin informational writing.</div>]]></description>

As they all come to reside in the mitten, the mitten burst and Nicki once again finds his white mittens.&nbsp;<br><strong>Age/Audience:</strong>&nbsp;K-2; All smaller children will enjoy this book because of the furry creatures that are featured in this book. The pictures are beautifully illustrated and the Ukrainian art will interest the students as well.&nbsp;<br><strong>Teaching Points:&nbsp;</strong>I could teach students about literacy from other cultures, folk tales, and sequencing of events.</div>]]></description>

This is a story of Astrid, who is currently 12 years old. Astrid and her best friend begin to have different interest; Astrid signs up for roller derby while her friend goes to dance camp. As the novel unfolds, you see that Astrid must adjust to life with new friends and new experiences. This is a heartwarming tale of a girl trying to find herself, and her identity apart from familiar friends and comfort zones.&nbsp;<br><strong>Age/Audience:&nbsp;</strong>I find that this novel would most likely appeal to 5-8 grade girls the most because I feel girls may be going through similar situations.&nbsp;<br><strong>Teaching Points:</strong>&nbsp;I think I could teach girls to follow their own interest, and learn to be a leader of their own lives instead of following what others want them to do all the time.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

It is filled with tons of drama and humor. In this particular comic, Nate gets in trouble with the principal, forgets his lunch, and insults "Godzilla" his reluctant teacher! This book is full of middle school memories: spit balls, lockers, crushes, and detention.&nbsp;<br><strong>Age/Audience:&nbsp;</strong>This is a great novel for students in grades 3-5. It is very funny, full of pictures and a non-intimidating amount of words on each page. All students no matter boys or girls will love this hilarious comic about the experiences of Nate in middle school.&nbsp;<br><strong>Teaching Points:</strong>&nbsp;I could use this book to show students how to create their own comic strips of stories, or have them use more dialogue and expression in their stories.</div>]]></description>

The book itself is comprised of several titles with the first sentence of the book. However, the actual stories behind the cover page and first sentence is a complete mystery. Each cover and sentence evokes strong mystery, and wonder for all who read.&nbsp;<br><strong>Age/Audience:</strong>&nbsp;grades 4-7; Interesting read for students who like mystery, and imaginative thinking.&nbsp;<br><strong>Teaching Points:</strong>&nbsp;I would use this book as a creative writing activity for students.</div>]]></description>

Annemarie Johansen's family helps to smuggle their dear friend Ellen Rosen to Sweden. This story is told from the perspective of ten year old Annemarie. This is a story of bravery, sacrifice, and the true power of friendship.&nbsp;<br><strong>Age/Audience:</strong>&nbsp;4-6 grades; This is interesting for students who like books that have history intertwined and like stories about friendship.&nbsp;<br><strong>Teaching Points:</strong>&nbsp;I would use this story to teach about the Holocaust, World Wars, and possibly geography of these places.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

This is truly a powerful coming of age story that will begin to teach students to sympathize with characters on a level they may never have known.&nbsp;<br><strong>Age/Audience:</strong>&nbsp;Grades 4-8; This is an interesting read for any students who like imaginative books, adventure, and friendship books.&nbsp;<br><strong>Teaching Points:</strong>&nbsp;I could use this for upper grades in order to teach literacy standards. I could also teach students how to have empathy for characters in a novel.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

As he coaches her, supports, her and builds her confidence, Ally begins to accept herself and gains the love for herself she never thought she could have.&nbsp;<br><strong>Age/Audience:</strong>&nbsp;Grades 6-8; This book is great for students who may struggle with a learning disability, or just like stories about young people who overcome tough obstacles in life. It has lots of lessons to be learned, and heartwarming moments.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

This book is about a strong, independent girl who dreams of fixing rockets (with the help of her fairy godrobot, of course.) She must help the prince fix his spaceship in order for him to get to the ball. This is a favorite of mine because the girl in the story is not a damsel in distress, but rather powerful and strong!<br><strong>Age/Audience:</strong>&nbsp;K-2; This book is great for kids who like familiar characters with a twist! This is a book full of action, adventure, graphics, and a strong female lead!<br><strong>Teaching Points:</strong>&nbsp;I could see myself using this as a book to compare other Cinderella literature books. Students would tell me the similarities in plot, setting, and characters.</div>]]></description>
