I grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and went to school at small private Christian schools from kindergarten to senior year of high school. This picture is of me and my parents at my graduation! Growing up in this environment has made a huge impact on who I am today and why I want to be a teacher. I got the privilege of being surrounded by loving teachers who only wanted the best for me. Because of the teachers I had, I am inspired to become a teacher myself and show many young students all the love just like my teachers did for me. I feel that my upbringing instilled a passion in me for young kids and how to teach them and love them the best that I can!

My Animals

Ever since I can remember my family has had many animals. Throughout my life, I have had dogs, cats, fish, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, turtles, chickens, horses, donkeys, and even hermit crabs! Because of this, I wanted to be a vet for my whole life until I changed my mind my senior year of high school. I believe that these two very different jobs still have a major similarity: you need to have a caring heart. I love caring for animals and young kids. I can't imagine a life without animals, but I also can only imagine myself as an elementary teacher. I have learned how to care for animals big and small. I am so grateful and will never have an empty house!

A random fact about me is that my favorite color is yellow! I think that the color yellow deserves more appreciation for how happy it is. I have always loved the sun and the feeling of sunshine on my skin, this feeling just reminds me of the color yellow. I also grew up loving to plant flowers with my mom in the spring and my favorite flower is a marigold. They look like little yellow puffballs and remind me of the sun. Also, I love anything lemon, especially lemon cakes or loaves. Personally, I think that yellow is the happiest, warmest, and most nostalgic color.
