         <description><![CDATA[<div>I don't think so, but that all depends on how responsibly they're used. If a student becomes absolutely depended on a calculator then it could be detrimental to their basic math skills, but I think that if they're given frequent opportunities to practice more traditional ways of doing math that they would retain the skills.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Calculators are of course a huge benefit to answering math problems, and it is sometimes impossible to do a math problem without a calculator, but relying on the too heavily can cause a student to forget their basic math skills. </div>]]></description>
