This Library is in the Hume Global Learning Center. It has very spacious study areas and meeting spaces, public PCs and WIFI, an area for children with gaming consoles and collections of books in many different languages. 

The object what makes me choose this site was a sculpture of a tree. 

The Galgi-ngarrak Yirranboi Tree. 
The Galgi-ngarrak Yirranboi Tree sculpture was named by local Gunung William – Balluck Elder Norm Hunter, who has since joined the Spirits of his ancestors. 

The Name means: Backbone of Tomorow” the tree represents growth in the rapidly developing Humme community, as well as the establishing of the new roots by many migrates and refuge who lies in the region. 

 What surprise me to know that how many different nationalities involved in this piece of Art and most of the plant material used in this Art work is indigenous to Broadmeadows There are basket makers from Indigenous Australian, Hmong, Samon, Maori, Cook Islander, Turkish, Vietnamese, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Kurdish and Filipino background people who worked with Artiest Wendy Golden. As I have only been living in this area for about a month, this community is still very new for me, I am glad this assignment gives me a chance to explore and research my area. 

I researched and found a beautiful sculpture remarkably close to me, I went to the site, asked a few people to show them a picture of sculpture where I can find that! Testaflora-
Sadly, this sculpture has lost its beauty, the symbolic representation of diversity, history, and changes in the community, no one can understand the representations of seeds and pods in the sculpture as they are not even there anymore. I have noticed the eucalyptus pods and brachy chiton pods from Australia and the Pacific, I have noticed the lost coloration and magnificent skill of composition and design. 

I wonder Hume City Council revisit this place and reflect on the value and purpose of this Artwork.
