Women are not seen as more than a nurse so for her try to be a doctor is something that people do not think she can or should do it. The best option for the Youngers was to take the money because they were not going to able to afford the house and it was also located in a white neighborhood which was going to spark some conflict. Their best choice was to take the money and find a better place which they could afford and also a place where they could feel comfortable and safe.

I don't think that Walter is a victim neither that it is society's fault. I think it is a little bit of both because yes Walter took really stupid decisions and he crushed his sister's dream but he was a little bit pressured and forced to make a change in his life. Part of the insurance Money that Walter lost was supposed to fund benethea's doctoral dream but now it is lost and they are moving away, so her dreams are now shattered. Her dreams were sacrificed  for Walters due to the fact that her dreams were not seen as important from the beginning since women during this time period werent expected to have such a big role in their homes and occupations.

2) Walter is definitely the villain in the story due to the fact that he lost the lump some amount of money that could have changed the youngers lives for the better. He tried to invest everything into his dreams without trying to at least supports benethea's which ultimately was his down fall. For starters, they were already threatened by Lindner that if they were to move into that house that they would eventually regret since they arent wanted there. In addition, they have no extra money at all and they're gonna have to work twice as hard to pay for the house every month and I feel like it simply wouldn't have been worth it. 

2. Walter in my opinion is lowkey the villain. He was being very selfish throughout the whole play. Yes, he did somewhat have good intentions in wanting to open up the liquor to provide for his family but he went about it in a really bad way. The Younger's established their own domain. They created for themselves, the ability to enjoy a new lifestyle and perhaps provide a future for Travis that the Younger's didn't have before.
1. The best option in my opinion is for the Younger's to accept the money and continue their lives in a different area or return to their former apartment and allow Beneathea, who seems to be the most intelligent of the Younger's, and allow her to manage the rest of the money.
